Frequently Asked Questions
-
You can expect your first visit to take around 45 minutes. If you’re coming with other family members who are also getting assessments done, please plan for longer. After the first visit, your visits are shorter - a typical visit will last around 10-15 minutes.
-
Most of the time, you will get an adjustment on the first visit.
-
Yes! Chiropractic care is considered a very safe and non-invasive treatment for pain relief and to improve quality of life.

Dr. Kelsey does hands-on spinal manipulations. This can look different for every patient based on what they want and what they are comfortable with. You may hear a little “pop” or “crack”, or you may not hear anything at all. There are also lighter methods including using drop pieces or activator.
For kids and babies, the adjustments are much lighter. It’s still a hands-on adjustment, but much lighter force. Kids and babies are generally pretty relaxed during the adjustments because they feel good, and they also know they will feel better afterwards. The pressure we use for a baby’s adjustments is less than the amount of force needed to check the ripeness of a tomato. It is very gentle. -
Once you are feeling better from the original issue that brought you into the office, Dr. Kelsey generally recommends continuing with periodic wellness adjustments to keep feeling good. This pro-active approach to health is what our healthcare system is headed towards (and desperately needs). A lot of people want to maintain their health proactively, so problems don’t start in the first place. Wellness care looks different for everyone, and is determined for each patient individually. Most people do every 2, 3 or 4 week wellness visits to keep feeling their best.

Of course! We have a kids area for a reason, and kids love it. We often have kids hanging out with us in the treatment room and “helping” with the adjustments. Our wonderful front desk staff will also be happy to hold your baby for you if you need a few minutes to yourself during your visit.

Yes! We highly recommend that you have a chiropractor during your pregnancy. Dr. Kelsey is certified in prenatal and postnatal chiropractic care, and can help recommend a treatment plan that is best for you. Chiropractic care is safe and gentle during pregnancy, and it helps prepare your body for a smoother labor and delivery.

As soon as you are ready to leave the house, we can see your baby. Dr. Kelsey has adjusted babies that are only a few days old and they do great with their adjustments. Birth is a big event, and it is important to make sure their little bodies are aligned so they are comfortable and thriving. A well adjusted baby = a happy baby!

In terms of feeling relief, many people start feeling a difference right away. However, chiropractic is about maintaining. Your care plan will most likely start off with more frequent visits and then taper down to keep things aligned for you. Your body will get more used to the adjustments, so you won’t need as many visits to keep feeling good. We generally recommend continuing with Wellness Adjustments after we are done with your initial plan of care. Wellness adjustments consist of a routine follow up every couple weeks to make sure things are staying in alignment so you don’t experience a flare up of symptoms. This is a proactive approach to your healthcare that most people appreciate.

Yes, we accept most insurance plans. We will look into your plan for you, but we always recommend that you have a good idea of what your insurance benefits are before coming in. Click the button below to see a list of the insurances we are in network with. If your insurance is not listed, please check with us because we have other options or can sometimes bill insurance “out of network”.
We accept HSA/HRA/FSA cards and will also send receipts to you if you want to submit to insurance yourself. This is a good option if we are “Out of Network” with your insurance plan.
We also have affordable cash rates. Sometimes our cash rates are cheaper than your insurance rates. Speak to us about this option and we can figure out a good plan for you.

This is a question we get a lot, and the answer is yes, we can still treat you even if you’ve had a spinal surgery. The best plan is to bring in your previous x-ray or MRI reports so we know exactly where the surgery was performed. We do not perform chiropractic adjustments at the location of the surgery - but we address the areas above and below. This ensures that we keep the rest of your spine healthy and maintains mobility in all the other areas.
